Children (and adults) love stories! We help make the Bible come alive for kids as we go through some of the biggest stories in the Bible, and how they are connected. These present important concepts, like God's character, selfishness, sin, faith, what is love, and so many others. On any given week, we may be covering one of these stories. Each one has the power to change a child's heart.
Every big story has a beginning. The major stories of creation, from Adam and Eve all the way through the Flood, present big topics in a fun and memorable way. By bringing the book of Genesis to life through creative teachings and interactive learning, children begin to see the world from the Bible's perspective.
Reading God's Word can lead to changed hearts and changed actions. It is so important that children know God's expectations for humanity. From the Ten Commandments to loving your neighbor, children in kids church learn the godly values of Biblical characters. These values from God's Word are sprinkled throughout each session.
Jesus is the central character of the Bible. He is the fulfillment of God's rules and expectations for humanity. He is the solution to the sin problem, and is the One through whom we are reconciled back to God.
The life of Jesus, as told in the four Gospels, remains a major part of our children's ministry program.
Sunday school is not about sitting in class, or being forced to memorize dates and names. Your kids have spent all week in class. The last thing they need is to see the Bible as just an academic book.
We strive to make kids church fun and interactive. Between crafts, games, and fun activities, we desire to help children see the dreams, hopes, and struggles of every Bible character come alive in the short time they are with us.
Ultimately, any good children's church program should lead kids towards God. That is why He came, lived and died for us.
The greatest law of all is to Love the Lord with everything. We stress all of this, starting with prayer. And our hope is that they will get a taste of this, in kids church at All People Christian Church.
